“Tranquil and calm”

When you think of the colour blue what do you think of? Most would say the sky or the ocean. It has a large association with both water and sky and can create a sense of rest and wellbeing in our lives.

Blue can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming so are great if you want to create a sense a calm in your home.

A pure blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality. Blue is the color of communication and is represented by the throat chakra in our own energy system.

Blue also symbolizes qualities such as stability, trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth and sincerity.

Not all blues are serene and once mixed with other elements can be more dynamic (like electric or royal blue) and some lighter shades of blue can be seen as cold.

Blue in design

Blue is well suited for web sites involving and promoting technology, medical products, cleanliness, air, sky, water and sea. Blue is thought to be the favourite color of more than half of the world’s population, and the least disliked color by most cultures.

* Powder blue is often used in products to promote cleanliness and purity.
* Owls are the only birds that can see the color blue.
* In Greece, the color blue is believed to ward off “the evil eye.” Those who believe in this Greek superstition often wear a blue charm necklace or blue bracelet for protection.

Blue energy

Sky blue is the color of communication and is represented by the throat chakra in our own energy system.

The vibration if blue can be used to open energy flow where it is blocked. Using blue to relax will encourage feelings of communication and peace. It is also associated with truth.

Wear blue when you want to enhance communications with yourself or with others. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolises loyalty.

People are also said to be more productive in rooms with blue as its main color scheme. Use blue paper for notes when you want help in remembering a speech or other information.
